At Caring for You Ltd we train our carers to understand what our customers really want and need.

This will range from supporting them with personal care, medications administration, to preparing food and keeping interests and activities as a core part of their life.

We have exacting standards, which enable our carers to deliver an excellent service.

We have a focus on expertise which means that many of our carers are trained to support customers with more complex conditions. We aim to deliver a service which impacts positively on our customers wellbeing and work with professional experts to ensure best practice.

Many of our carers are trained far beyond the legal requirements in the sector. This ensures our carers deliver the best possible service to our customers.

Caring for You job seekers enjoy a Recruitment and Induction Training period. This includes practical care practice, manual handling and transference, first aid, fire safety, abuse awareness, food hygiene and health and safety. New staff also shadow experienced carers to ensure that they meet the same high standards expected of the company, before they start their new jobs.

Our care workers are encouraged to enroll on NVQ Level 2 in Care courses. Subject to funding, we provide this training free of charge most staff are willing to improve their skills and dedicate their time to achieving this valuable qualification. Some will use their spare time on assignment to study and write their essays. A few of our care staff continue on to achieve NVQ 3 and above.

The Standard check includes police files and official reprimands, while the Enhanced Disclosure delves deeper into the individual’s background.

Also, all of our carers are checked against the SOVA, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults register.

Caring for You Training

Moving, Handling and Safeguarding

Carers will learn to use techniques which help to support the less physically able. These techniques will maintain safety for both the carer and our customer. We will also discuss in detail what we mean by safe guarding and very importantly the responsibility carers hold with potentially vulnerable customers. The carers’ responsibilities in the context of the mental capacity act are also fully explained.

Medication

Each carer will be fully qualified to administer medication. Fully understanding medications documentation, liaising with GP surgeries and pharmacies is also a fundamental part of this training.
Health and safety, fire safety
Safety at home is critical and our carers will have a responsibility for the environment within which they work. A risk assessment is completed, which will support our carers to ensure they work safely.

First Aid

Our staff are trained in First Aid awareness.

Food hygiene

Meal preparation is a fundamental part of our carers’ role so understanding how to do this safely is essential.

Dementia

Dementia is a core area of expertise and specialisim for Caring for You so our carers ability to both understand dementia and support clients living with it is paramount. This training concentrates on what dementia is, and how it impacts on a client living with it. We also focus on plans of care, how these are created and how these can effectively support both clients and carers and enable families to live positively with dementia
